Jaida Triblet It’s been ten years since you left me, I don’t cry anymore. Although sores are still open, salted & blistering, I miss you but I can't find the words to tell you I love you. Our emotions hang in the air thick and tense like a black cloud darkening this relationship. I choke on heavy black smoke, Daddy I can't say I love you. And you can't say sorry, because there’s no reason to apologize, so we continue living this lie, this pretend 'father-daughter' relationship that so many girls envy, but they're the lucky ones, can't you see Daddy? Tear-stained pillows tell my story of sorrow and grief, Emotions too deep, I know nothing of which I speak. For all the times I wished I could have danced on your feet, Or sat on you lap, Or watched the game with you, Distant brief memories of my childhood of which I have no recollection, Daddy do you remember? Our relationship is a strained one, We sometimes ride in cars in

My Transfer Experience

Andrea Gombor When should I start my transfer process? ASAP! When you have an idea of what your going to pursue, you have to start looking through hundreds of colleges that have the potential to accommodate your educational and financial needs. Your lists should consists of “reach schools,” that is, schools that have a low acceptance rate, think Stanford, the University of Chicago, Harvard, “target schools,” that is, schools that are selective but you have more of a chance of getting in, and safety schools. On safety schools, I did not like applying to safety schools because I did not think I would attend any of them, if I were admitted. Thankfully, I had many choices to choose from and thus I did not have to dip into my target or safety schools. However, you don’t want to be a snob about looking into great safety schools. Three schools that you might consider are: Reed College, Mount Holyoke (women only), and Bard. 2. Affordability. Your lists should include schools that give transfers hefty financial aid packages. Therefore,
