Writing the PTK Hallmark Essays

by Ross Adler

Writing the PTK Hallmark Essays was a long and laborious process. It involved a lot of effort from all of the officers and it required enough time and dedication in order for it to be accomplished. The Hallmark Essays were a culmination of all the work that we’ve done since the beginning of the semester. One of the essays that we wrote was about the process of organizing the Honors in Action project, its outcome, and the data that we were able to crunch and make sense of.
Starting the essay was no easy task. First, we had officers and members answer each question and then we had to narrow the answers down to a certain amount of words. After that, we had to make sure that the essay flows and is free from errors. By the time we were done with the essay, we had gone through it countless times to make sure that we were submitting the absolute best that we could.
My experience with writing the Hallmark Essays is that dedication of time and effort is absolutely essential. If you don’t spend enough time contributing work towards the completion of the essay, expect to get a mediocre result, whereas spending more time will lead to a better outcome.
This year, we accomplished the essay in a rush because we didn’t contribute in a timely manner. I feel like the content was good and we did answer the questions comprehensively, however we could’ve done a better job by spreading the work throughout the few weeks that we had.
Writing the Hallmark Essays can be a very rewarding experience. However, it is essential to do your absolute best to contribute and to do it in a timely manner.
